A SOUTH Tyneside beauty therapist is making a striking impression in the business world.
Marie Scroggins is bringing her beauty skills to clients at home and abroad after forging a business partnership.
Miss Scroggins, from South Shields, trained in hairdressing and beauty therapy at South Tyneside College, where she later lectured in the same subject for more than seven years.
Bus the 30-year-old beauty expert, who has a certificate in education and a foundation degree, eventually took voluntary redundancy from the borough college.
She said: “This was due to a change in direction in my life, after getting married and having a little girl.
“I bought into nd Make-up Artists with the hope of expanding the business and bringing new ideas and skills to the company.”
A leading beauty company, based in Newcastle city centre, nd Make-up Artists’ clients include MTV, Grazia magazine and TKMaxx.
Miss Scroggins and business partner Nicola Slesser head the North East company, which has recently raised its business profile at home and abroad.
“We offer bespoke services, including hair and make-up for weddings, commercials and services for fashion shows and photo-shoots.
“Plus, we have also recently launched our own brand of make-up brushes and will soon add eyelashes to our product range.”
While working throughout the North East, nd Make-up Artists have also provided services in foreign cities, such as Milan.
Both women recently judged the Association Of Teachers’ Hairdressing Competition in Gateshead and Blackpool.
This spring, nd Make-up Artists will be involved with several projects at the MetroCentre, Gateshead.
