Newcastle fans face travel chaos as Arsenal game hit by Tube strike

LONDON UNDERGROUND ... football fans will be hit by a Tube strike next week.

NEWCASTLE United fans could face travel chaos as they try to get home from the Emirates Stadium after Monday night’s clash with Arsenal.

The Premier League game kicks off at 8pm, as it is being televised live by Sky Sports.

But to add to the problems Magpies fans already face in catching their last train home, they are also set to be hit by a strike on the London Underground.

Members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport union will walk out for 48 hours from 9pm on Monday and for three days from the same time the following Monday in protest at the closure of Tube ticket offices.

Talks this week have failed to avert the stoppages, although both sides said they are prepared to continue meeting ahead of the action.

London Underground said it plans to run as many services as possible during the strikes, but warned there will be disruption from Monday evening, with trains starting later and finishing earlier than normal.
