A SOUTH Tyneside company will help shed light on business opportunities in the area.
Training expert Chris Edmondson, from Base 2 Training Ltd, at the Quadrus Centre, Boldon Business Park, will hold a special session on public speaking at the Illuminate event, to be held at the Stadium of Light, Sunderland, on March 5.
The session will explain how business people can conquer their fears of public speaking and better promote themselves.
The event is set to attract hundreds of firms.
Due to be held between 9am and 4pm, the event includes exhibition space for 70 local companies and will play host to 11 expert speakers, including Alex Bell of Google, who will explain how a computer search engine can help boost business.
The aim of the enterprising event is to get more firms south of the Tyne to work together.
A similar event at the Stadium of Light last year attracted more than 500 members of the business community, who took the opportunity to promote themselves to new customers and celebrate what the city has to offer.
The showcase is a spin-off from the successful regional event, North East Expo, which attracts thousands of businesses to Kingston Park, home of the Newcastle Falcons rugby squad.
Event organiser Lorraine Gordon said: “It was the local businesses who came to us with the idea, insisting there was a demand for an event of this kind, focussing on businesses in South Tyneside and Sunderland.
“They were right, as the last event was a great success and facilities at the Stadium of Light proved to be ideal.
“Visitors can book free tickets online and are invited to bring friends, colleagues and business associates along for a great day.
“Parking is free and guests can attend as many seminars as they like.”
