Court Round-Up: Shoplifters, drunks and other petty criminals

The following people have been dealt with at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court:

Siobhan Ames, 24, of New Road, Boldon Colliery, was fined £60 after being found guilty of being drunk and disorderly in a public place in Boldon Colliery on Saturday, March 19. She must also pay prosecution costs of £40 and a £20 victim surcharge.

Gareth Don, 21, of Bowman Place, South Shields, was given a six-month conditional discharge after admitting stealing alcohol worth £4 from Asda, in Coronation Street, South Shields, on Saturday, March 19. He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £85 and a £15 victim surcharge.

Louise Gibbons, 37, of Rawling Road, Gateshead, was given a six-month conditional discharge after admitting stealing a pink jumper to the value of £29 from the Barbour factory shop in Jarrow on Sunday, January 24.

She must also pay prosecution costs of £85 and a £15 victim surcharge.

Lee Halcrow, 40, of Westoe Road, South Shields, was given a six-month conditional discharge after admitting using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour in South Shields on Monday, January 11. He must also pay a £15 victim surcharge.

Peter McShane, 52, of Tynemouth Road, Jarrow, was given a 12-month conditional discharge after admitting being in possession of a quantity of cannabis in Jarrow on Friday, February 12.

He must also pay £85 prosecution costs and a £15 victim surcharge.

Rhys Pell, 19, of Canberra Drive, South Shields, was given a six-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £150 compensation after admitting damaging a lock to a front door at a property in Dock Street, South Shields, on Sunday, February 14.

He must also pay prosecution costs of £40.

Shaun Hudson, 50, of no fixed address, was fined £85 and ordered to pay comnpensation of £50 after admitting an assault in South Shields on Saturday, April 2.

He must also pay prosecution costs of £85 and a £20 victim surcharge.
