HARTON Quays Park, South Shields, will come alive with colourful stalls when a craft market will be set up as part of South Tyneside’s Summer Festival.
Talented local artists and craftspeople will be displaying their wares, ranging from toys to ceramics, jewellery to original paintings, and cupcakes to textiles between 10am and 2pm on Sunday.
The fair, organised in partnership with the Customs House and Groundwork, will coincide with the free Sunday concert featuring popstars B*witched and Shayne Ward at nearby Bents Park.
One of the local businesses attending the fair is Tiger Lily florists in Dean Road, South Shields.
The business has recently been opened by Jade Raine and Caroline Tullis.
Ms Raine said: “We think this craft fair is a great idea.
“Set in Harton Quays park, visitors and residents will be able to combine a free summer festival concert with a pleasant shopping experience and pick up gifts that simply aren’t always available in the shops.”
The fair will also be held on Sunday, July 20, and Sunday, July 27, to coincide with other free concerts as part of the summer festival.
Harton Quays Park stretches along the River Tyne from the ferry landing to the Customs House, and features curved embankments, a promenade, sheltered gardens, a striking water feature and an amphitheatre.
