POLICE have now arrested 19 suspected football hooligans in a probe into organised violence at last month’s Sunderland-West Ham game.

Four more people were arrested over the weekend - two men aged 18 and 28 from Sunderland, a 16-year-old from the city, and a 15-year-old from Chester-le-Street.

They have all been bailed pending further inquiries into the trouble before the game at the Stadiium of Light on Saturday, January 12.

This morning, another 15-year-old, from Washington, and he remains in custody, helping with inquiries.

The arrests follow violence, which it is believed was pre-arranged, outside Revolution Bar at Low Row in Sunderland city centre, 45 minutes before kick-off.

Police are still appealing for information about the people shown in eight images which were released last week.

Anyone who recognises themselves or knows the identity of anyone pictured is asked to contact police on 101 ext 69191, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
