A MAN accused of stealing money from someone with learning difficulties is to stand trial.
Brian Morris allegedly approached the man in a shop and asked him to hand over cash before going to his home twice and taking more money.
The 42-year-old is then said to have gone to the man’s home in South Shields and asked him for more cash.
Morris pleaded not guilty to three counts of theft and one of attempted theft at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
Magistrates accepted jurisdiction of the case and a two-day trial was set for January 20 and 21.
Morris, of Belloc Avenue, South Shields, was granted bail until then, on condition that he does not contact his alleged victim or any other prosecution witnesses.
