AN alcoholic was arrested for shouting and swearing at police.
Amanda Smith was told to leave Bluebell Way, in South Shields, after residents had complained she was causing a nuisance in the street.
The 42-year-old left but went back an hour later and started shouting in the street again.
Smith, of Vine Street. South Shields, was warned about her behaviour but continued, and was arrested.
She pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court.
Sarah Guest, prosecuting, told the court it was 9.30am on July 6 when police were called to Bluebell Way.
Laura Johnson, defending, said: “She accepts she needs to get some help with her alcohol problem and is voluntarily doing that.”
Magistrates fined Smith £75 and ordered her to pay £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
