Car destroyed in suspected arson attack

A CAR has been destroyed in a suspected arson attack in South Tyneside.

The Skoda had been left overnight in a car park behind the Grey Hen pub in Temple Park Road, South Shields.

Firefighters from South Shields were called at 1am, today, after the alarm was raised of a car ablaze.

The car is believed to have been deliberately set on fire.

Police were called and an investigation launched into the cause of the blaze.
