CCTV APPEAL ... police released this picture of three men wanted for a vicious attack on a 15-year boy in East Boldon.

POLICE today issued CCTV pictures of three suspects wanted in connection with a vicious attack on a South Tyneside teenager.

The 15-year-old victim was attacked at about 8.40pm, on Sunday in Station Road, near East Boldon Metro station.

He suffered serious facial injuries and was taken to South Tyneside District Hospital before being transferred to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle, for treatment to a broken jaw.

He had got off the Metro at East Boldon station, and police believe he may have been followed by three men who got off at the same stop.

Officers want to identify and speak to the men in the images, who may have information to assist their investigation.

They got onto the Metro at West Jesmond at about 7.40pm, and are described as having Eastern European accents.

Inquiries into the assault are ongoing and anyone who recognises the men, or who has any information, is asked to contact police on 101, ext 69191.
