POLICE investigating a robbery in South Tyneside have released CCTV images of a man they need to speak to.

The raid happened just after 7am on Monday, June 16, at Best One newsagents at Stoddart Street in South Shields.

A man went into the store, armed with a knife, and threatened a member of staff.

A quantity of cash was stolen but no one was injured in the incident.

Investigating officers have now released CCTV images of a man they need to speak to who may be able to help with their inquiries into the robbery.
