A MARRIED couple accused of being benefit cheats will have their case heard at crown court.

Freda Glover, 55, and James Glover, 52, were both at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court, facing six fraud charges each.

The charges, which go back to 2005, include three counts of making a false statement to claim benefit, concealing criminal property, dishonestly failing to notify a change in circumstances that would affect housing and council tax benefit, and being concerned with the use of criminal property.

Neither entered a plea, and magistrates asked for the case to be dealt with at Newcastle Crown Court, where they will appear on March 4.

The Glovers, of Dunstanburgh Court, Jarrow, were granted unconditional bail.
