POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a decapitated calf was found dead at a farm.
The incident happened near Derwent Walk, Whickham, between 8am yesterday and 8am today.
Sgt Jeff Purves, of the Inner West Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “This has been a very unpleasant experience for the farmer, and we ask anyone who knows anything about this incident to contact police.
“We want to reassure the public we are doing all we can to trace those responsible.”
