POLICE are hunting a driver who left a garage forecourt in South Tyneside without paying for fuel.
The motorist pulled into the Esso service station in Newcastle Road, Simonside, at 2.40pm on Saturday.
After filling his vehicle with £50 of petrol he drove off without paying.
The car is described as a dark blue BMW 5 series with a registration plate ending in either MKT or WKT.
The driver was male, slim, and about 5ft 10ins tall, with short hair.
Acting Neighbour-hood Inspector Nick Gjorven said: “CCTV from the forecourt is being looked at in a bid to trace the person responsible.
“We appeal for anyone with information to contact us.”
