A DRUG dealer is behind bars after police found incriminating text messages on his mobile phone.
Police found small amounts of cannabis and amphetamine when they raided Michael Lamport’s home last July.
Prosecutor Emma Dowling told Newcastle Crown Court: “Text messages showed requests for him to provide drugs, which he responds to.”
Lamport, of Collingwood Street, South Shields, was on bail for similar drugs offences at the time, and has since been jailed for 12 months.
Judge Deborah Sherwin sentenced the 31-year-old, who admitted supplying class B drugs, to a further eight months yesterday.
Wayne Hunter, 29, also of Collingwood Street, South Shields, was given a 12-month community order for acting as “facilitator” in some of Lamport’s cannabis deals.
