A DRUNKEN man was arrested after refusing to leave his girlfriend’s home.

Police were called to the house in Imeary Street, South Shields, on Tuesday evening after the woman called 999 to say Martin Leck was causing trouble.

When officers got there, she said there was no longer a problem but just hours later, they were asked to go to the house again.

Leck, 34, was refusing to leave and started swearing at officers.

He admitted breaching the peace at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

Stan Sudworth, prosecuting, said: “He said he was going nowhere, and swore at the officers. They tried to reason with him but he continued with the abuse.”

Leck was bound over for £100 to keep the peace for six months.
