ARSONISTS who damaged five cars after starting a blaze on a South Tyneside industrial estate are today being hunted by police.
A report was received just after 7.30pm last night that a car was on fire in a compound on the Prince Consort Industrial Estate in Hebburn.
The fire brigade and police attended, and found two vehicles had been extensively damaged and three others were also damaged.
It is believed the fire was started deliberately in a large crate and spread to the cars, which were parked nearby.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to the arson or anyone who saw suspicious activity at the industrial estate to contact them.
Anyone with information is asked to call 101, ext 69191, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
