A SOUTH Tyneside man found with heroin at his home has been given a conditional discharge.
Joseph White, 37, had four wraps of the Class A drug when police swoped on his home in Eglesfield Road, South Shields, on Sunday, July 14
He pleaded guilty to a charge of possessing a Class A drug at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court.
Paul Anderson, prosecuting, said: “Police exercised a search warrant at his home and found four wraps of heroin for his own personal use of an estimated value of £30.
Christopher Brown, defending, said: “The drugs were for his own use. He has struggled hugely with heroin use over the years.”
White was given a conditional discharge for 18 months and ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £15.
