INVESTIGATION: Inquiries are ongonig after a car blaze in West Boldon

A PAIR of burglars who tied up a householder in an aggravated burglary in South Shields are being hunted by police.

At 9.50am today, officers received a report of a burglary in Central Gardens, Harton Nook, South Shields.

Two intruders entered and tied up the occupant before searching the house.

The victim, who has not been named, was uninjured, but was left badly shaken by the ordeal.

One burglar was in his 20s and the other in his 40s. Both were about 5ft 8in to 5ft 10in tall.

Inquiries are ongoing to establish if anything was stolen in the raid, and extra officers are in the area to reassure local residents.
