A SOUTH Tyneside man accused of making an internet threat to kill 200 American schoolchildren appeared in court again today.
Reece Elliott was arrested by police on Friday after allegedly posting on a Facebook memorial page for a girl killed in a Tennessee road accident.
The anonymous message, which said: “I’m going to kill at least 200 before I kill myself”, sparked a security alert at Warren County High School after it was discovered last Wednesday.
It was reported that about 3,000 pupils stayed off school the next day.
Elliott, 24, of Shrewsbury Terrace, appeared at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court on Saturday morning, charged with making threats to kill and making a malicious communication.
No pleas were entered and he was remanded in custody until today.
The father-of-one made an application for bail, which was refused, and he was remanded in custody until March 25.
