A MAN accused of attacking staff in the South Tyneside guest house where he was living will stand trial.

Bryan Robson had been staying at a bed and breakfast in Ocean Road, South Shields, for the last three weeks.

But when the 52-year-old was told to leave on Saturday after concerns about his behaviour, he allegedly punched a cleaner in the face and broke a door.

Robson, now of no fixed abode, was at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court yesterday, facing charges of assault and causing criminal damage.

He pleaded not guilty, and the court heard he denies the alleged attack and damaging the door.

Robson will be back at the court on May 7 for his trial, and was granted unconditional bail.
