A MAN from South Tyneside has appeared at Newcastle Crown Court accused of murder.
Daniel Johnson is alleged to have killed 24-year-old Gemma Finnigan at the flat they shared in Church View, Boldon Colliery, on Friday.
The 32-year-old appeared in court by videolink from Durham Prison.
Johnson spoke only to confirm his name and that he had heard what was happening during the short hearing.
He was not asked to enter a plea to the murder charge, and will be back in court on November 28.
A provisional date has been set for a trial, which is expected to last about five days, for March 17 next year.
He was remanded in custody in the meantime.
