A MAN accused of having a knife in public will stand trial.
David Kirsop is said to have had the kitchen knife on him when police found him in the allotments in Station Road, Boldon Colliery, in the early hours of Friday.
The 27-year-old was at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court facing a charge of possessing a bladed article.
He pleaded not guilty and will stand trial at the court on December 16.
Kirsop, of no fixed abode, was granted bail until then.
It was granted on the condition that he lives at his mother’s address in Osbourne Avenue in South Shields.
