A MAN accused of a string of sex attacks on a young boy will have his case heard at crown court.

Charles Wade is accused of carrying out the sexual activity between 1969 and 1973 in South Shields.

The 64-year-old was at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court yesterday facing four counts of committing an act of gross indecency with a boy under 16.

Due to the serious nature of the allegations, magistrates declined jurisdiction of the case.

He entered no plea to the charges and will appear at Newcastle Magistrates’ Court on February 26.

Wade, of Ashfield Lodge in Cruddas Park, Newcastle, was granted unconditional bail until then.
