A MAN accused of stealing cash left behind at a South Tyneside supermarket is to stand trial next month.
Peter Todd allegedly was caught on CCTV picking up £30 that had been left at a self-service till at Asda in Boldon Colliery on April 17.
The 26-year-old was at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court facing a charge of theft.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge and will be back at the court on Friday, September 13, for his trial.
The court heard that though Todd, of Auckland Avenue, South Shields, admits it is him on the CCTV, he denies taking the cash,
He was granted unconditional bail until then.
