A MAN has been arrested after a festive ornamental reindeer was damaged in a South Tyneside churchyard.
Police are appealing for witnesses after the offence at St Hilda’s Church in Market Place, South Shields, at 1.30am on Saturday.
A man had gone into the churchyard - which had a display of Christmas decorations - and damaged the ornamental lit reindeer.
A 26-year-old man was arrested and charged with criminal damage, and is due to appear before South Tyneside Magistrates’ on February 4.
