A MAN who was arrested after two ‘suspicious’ incidents in South Shields has been released on bail.
The 43-year-old was quizzed on suspicion of committing disorderly conduct after two women reported a man in a black car trying to talk to them.
However, he has now been released while police investigate the incidents further.
At 10am last Thursday, a man in a black car stopped and spoke to a 24-year-old woman in Sutton Way, South Shields, and then drove off.
Then at 8.15am on Saturday, a man in a black car stopped at a bus stop in Stanhope Road and spoke to a 26-year-old woman before driving off.
Over the weekend, there had been reports on social media site Facebook that a man driving a black car in South Shields had been trying to lure girls into the vehicle.
