A MAN has been fined after police found him in the bed of his ex-girlfriend, who he is banned from seeing.
Christopher Sharp was at the woman’s home in South Shields when police turned up looking for someone else.
The officers spotted the 26-year-old in her bedroom but thought nothing of it.
When they returned to the police station and looked up Sharp’s details, they discovered he was made subject of a restraining order banning him from contacting the woman in August, and they returned to arrest him.
Geoffrey Forrester, defending, said: “The lady contacted him on numerous occasions wanting to resume the relationship, which is how he ended up there.
“She wanted to make an application to have the restraining order removed.
“She says she never wanted it in place.”
Magistrates fined Sharp, of Stanhope Road, South Shields, £240 and ordered him to pay £85 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
