A MAN accused of a drink-driving offence is set to stand trial.
Thomas Purvis entered a not guilty plea to the charge of driving with excess alcohol at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
The offence is alleged to have taken place on Harton Lane, South Shields, on November 16 last year.
The 52-year-old, of Harton Lane, South Shields, will be back at the court for a trial on April 28.
He was granted unconditional bail until then.
