The incident happened at 9.45pm yesterday in the underpass from Brockley Whins Metro to Masefield Drive.

The woman was walking along the road when a man grabbed at her arm, but she was able to run off.

She wasn’t injured, but was left shaken.

Neighbourhood Inspector Dave Hudson said: “We’re carrying out inquiries into the incident to establish the circumstances and would urge anyone who was in the area or may know the identify of the person described to contact us.

“Extra officers will be in the area both to carry out inquiries and to reassure residents and answer any concerns they may have.”
