POLICE today released new CCTV pictures of a gang suspected of breaking a South Tyneside teenager’s jaw after following him off the Metro.
The 15-year-old victim was attacked in Station Road, outside East Boldon Metro station, at about 8.40pm on Sunday, September 8.
The three men pictured are believed to have followed him off the train and left him lying battered in the road.
He was taken to South Tyneside District Hospital before being transferred to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle for more specialist treatment.
Now, as the boy recovers at home, police are closing in on his attackers.
Last week, they said they believed the three men, who spoke with Eastern European accents, got back on the Metro after the attack, getting off at Seaburn at 9.10pm.
They had got on a train at West Jesmond Metro station at about 7.40pm, and it’s thought they may live in the Seaburn or Roker areas of Sunderland.
After releasing the new pictures of the suspects, police asked anyone who recognises the men, or has any information, to call 101, ext 69191.
