GV Tyne Dock News South Elsdon st robbed

A SOUTH Tyneside newsagents has been robbed for the second time in a month.

Tyne Dock News on South Eldon Street, South Shields, was raided by a man who demanded staff hand over cash from the till.

The robbery happened at about 10am, today, leaving the woman shop worker shaken but unhurt.

The robber made off in the direction of Dean Road.

He is described as being in his early 20s, 5ft 3ins, slim. He was wearing a black tracksuit top with the hood up and a baseball cap under the hood.

He had a black scarf covering his face and was also wearing dark tracksuit bottoms.

Earlier this month, cash was taken from the newsagents after a robber brandishing a hammer threatened staff.
