A TWISTED uncle made secret videos of his niece in the shower after becoming obsessed with her after she had a breast enlargement.
Stacey Armstrong had temporarily moved in with Leslie Bullha while she recuperated from the surgery last year.
Newcastle Crown Court heard the 53-year-old used a mobile phone, which he hid behind toiletries in the bathroom, to make three covert recordings.
Bullha, of Ullswater Gardens, South Shields, was arrested after the 24-year-old became suspicious and stumbled across his stash in the loft.
Last year, the Gazette reported how Bullha organised a charity calendar featuring saucy snaps of female family members – including Miss Armstrong.
Cash from the risqué calendar went towards the British Kidney Patient Foundation, after Bullha’s wife was struck down with kidney failure.
Today she told the Gazette of her horror when she discovered she had been secretly filmed.
Miss Armstrong bravely waived the right to her anonymity after her uncle was sentenced at crown court yesterday.
Married Bullha, who admitted three counts of voyeurism at an earlier hearing, was given a community sentence after a judge decided he was a low risk for re-offending.
But Miss Armstrong said she felt “violated” by the man she said she trusted and saw as a second father.
She told the Gazette: “The family have always been really close, and Les was always the one who would get everyone together.
“I saw Les as a second father and often stayed at his and his wife’s home while I was growing up.
“Even now it’s all over, I still can’t believe that someone you could put so much trust in could do something like this – what he’s done is horrendous.”
Mum-of-one Stacey told how she rumbled Bullha when she and a cousin went into the loft – a place from which they had always been banned – while Bullha and his wife were on holiday.
She said: “While I was staying there, he used to wake me up, saying he had run a bath for me.
“Then, when I was in the bathroom, he used to knock on the door, saying he needed the toilet.
“I felt as though something wasn’t right – but this was something that had never crossed my mind.
“My cousin was staying with me and she said she had seen a photo-flash in the bathroom. We had always been banned from going into the loft, so we thought we would take a look.
“When we got up there, there was a computer and memory sticks lying around. We tried to switch the computer on, but it was passworded.
“We took some memory sticks, and when we put it into a different computer, there were three videos about 20 minutes long, and they were of me.
“He had been using a secret camera to film me. In one of the videos, you can even see him looking into the camera.
“He shoves it in between two shower bottles. I don’t know how I didn’t see it.
“I was frozen with shock and horror. I don’t know what I was expecting to see, but I never expected it to be me on the video.
“I just ran out the house, got into a taxi and went to my other auntie’s, where I rang my mam.
“She was hysterical when she saw the videos, and rang the police straight away. It made me feel sick”.
Kevin Wardlaw, prosecuting, told the court Bullha became sexually frustrated after his wife fell ill, and “became obsessed” with his niece.
Bullha was given a community order for three years, with a requirement to complete a sex offenders treatment programme.
Vic Laffey, defending, said Bullha was “deeply ashamed” of what he did and is highly unlikely to get into trouble again.
Miss Armstrong added: “When it first came out, I was labelled a liar. And now everyone knows I was telling the truth. I’m just glad it’s all over with.”
