Inspector Adrian Maher, of Northumbria Police, has confirmed 15-year-old Shelby Hill was last seen in North Tyneside at around 9pm on April 30 but failed to return to an address, on Inverness Road in Jarrow, later that evening.

Police say Shelby, of, Park Parade in Whitley Bay, had been staying at an address in Jarrow when she went missing.

She was reported missing at 11pm on April 30 and police have been carrying out inquiries in both Northumbria and Durham to try and trace her whereabouts.

Officers and Shelby's family are growing increasingly concerned for her welfare and are now asking for help from the public.

She is described as white, of slim build, around 5ft2in tall and with medium length brown hair. She was last seen wearing a blue top, black leggings and navy trainers.
