STOLEN BIKE ... a photograph of the Giant XTC, which now has a white seat and a light attached.

POLICE have appealed for help to trace a £500 bike which was stolen in South Tyneside.

It happened at 6.47pm on Saturday, in Dean Road, South Shields, when someone made off on the bike along Chichester Road and into Darras Court Estate.

The bike is a Giant XTC, black at the front and silver to grey at the rear, with a black light on the front and two large white mudguards.

It has Giant XTC written on the frame, carbon fibre grips and ‘Race Face’ written on the handlebars in red writing. It also has a white saddle.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them on 101, ext 69191, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
