A MAN was found with drugs at his home after a visit by police.

Officers went to Dean Thompson’s in relation to another matter – but found cannabis and amphetamines while there.

The 27-year-old, of Prince Consort Road, Hebburn, pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of cannabis and another of possession of amphetamines at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

Thompson appeared from the custody dock, as he has been recalled to prison in regards to a separate offence.

Stan Sudsworth, prosecuting, said: “On December 12, officers went to Mr Thompson’s home in connection with another matter.

“While there, they conducted a search and found cannabis bush, as well as a bag of white powder.”

Thompson was given an absolute discharge by magistrates.
