A CHARM bracelet has been stolen from a house in South Tyneside

The burglary happened between 7pm on Monday, March 10 and 6am on Tuesday, March 11 at a house in Thorntree Walk in Hedworth area of Jarrow.

A Links of London sweetie bracelet was stolen during the break in. The bracelet has six charms - two crosses, a shoe, a four leafed clover, a gingerbread man (with red eyes) and a heart.

Officers believe attempts may have been made to sell the bracelet door to door and are asking anyone who has been offered a similar bracelet for sale, or who may have bought it, to contact them.

DS Dave Henderson, South Tyneside CID said: “The bracelet was a birthday present and holds a great amount of sentimental value to the owner. It may be that someone has bought it without realising it was stolen, if they have we would ask them to contact us.

“If anyone has any information about the burglary or those responsible we also want to hear from them.”

Anyone with information should contact Northumbria Police on 101 ext 69191 quoting reference 176 110314 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Northumbria Police is currently running Operation Soundwave aimed at targeting burglars. More information about the campaign is available on the Northumbria Police website www.northumbria.police.uk
