A CONVICTED thief who failed to turn up to his sentencing hearing last week will be back in court on Friday.
A warrant was issued for the arrest of Paul Robinson after he failed to show up for the court date last week.
The 49-year-old had been warned he faced a possible jail sentence after stealing almost £4,000 from a South Tyneside pub where he had been due to start work.
Robinson pleaded guilty to a charge of theft from the Ben Lomond pub, in Grange Road, Jarrow, at the court on March 7, and was due to return for sentencing
A warrant for his arrest has now been withdrawn.
Robinson has been given unconditional bail to appear before South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court on Friday for sentencing.
Robinson, of Salisbury Street, Gateshead, was being trained to start work as a supervisor at the pub by his girlfriend, an assistant manager.
