Shields man faces trial for rape of teenager

A MAN accused of rape will have his case heard at crown court.

Glen Stanbury, 29, of Oak Avenue, South Shields, appeared at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court charged with raping a teenage girl in 2011.

Due to the serious nature of the allegation, magistrates asked for the case to be dealt with at Newcastle Crown Court and he will appear there today.
