A THIEF escaped with hundreds of pounds worth of goods after sneaking into a home through unlocked patio doors.
Police were called to reports of a burglary at a property in Soane Gardens, South Shields.
The thief is believed to have walked into the house through unlocked doors. A laptop computer, mobile phones and cash were stolen.
The burglary happened between 9pm on Friday and 9am the next day.
Police are reminding people to ensure they keep their doors locked at all times.
