A TEENAGE boy is today in hospital with serious facial injuries after being attacked by a gang after he got off the Metro.
The 15-year-old, who has not been named, was assaulted at about 8.40pm yesterday in Station Road, East Boldon.
The boy had got off a train at the nearby station and police believe he may have been followed by three men who alighted at the same time.
He was taken to South Tyneside District Hospital and then transferred to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle, where he is in a stable condition.
