A THIEF was caught stealing £43 of razors from a South Tyneside supermarket.
Security guards in Jarrow’s Morrisons recognised Jason Sprouting as he entered the shop.
They watched the 38-year-old as he picked up the blades. As he left the Viking Precinct store, they found the blades under his top.
Sprouting, of Western Road, Jarrow, pleaded guilty to theft at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court.
Kevin Smallcombe, defending, said: “He didn’t have any benefits.”
Sprouting was given a three-month community order with supervision and a drug rehabilitation requirement. He must also pay a £60 victim surcharge.
