DAVID CHARLTON ... a third man appeared in court today accused of his murder.

A THIRD person has been charged with the murder of South Shields man David Charlton

Paul Carr, of Hudson Street, South Shields, was charged today by detectives investigating the killing of the dad-of-one.

The 31-year-old will appear at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court on Friday morning.

Mr Charlton, 25, was stabbed to death after leaving The Last Orders pub in Stanley Street, Tyne Dock, with his girlfriend on Friday, December 21.

Two teenagers have already been charged with his murder and last appeared at Newcastle Crown Court in January.

Keith Honeyman, 19, and a 15-year-old youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, have not entered pleas and will be back in court on March 15 for a plea and directions hearing.

A trial date has been listed for the week starting June 10. Judge James Goss QC remanded them both into custody.

Mr Charlton, 25, who lived in Lemon Street, Tyne Dock, South Shields, as with partner Kirsty Claughan, 23, at the time of the attack at the junction of Stanhope Road and Boldon Lane.
