OWNERS have been reminded by police not to leave tools in vehicles overnight after a van was broken into in South Tyneside.
It happened between midnight and 8.30am on Tuesday, January 29, when a blue VW van was parked at Aston Street in South Shields.
A window was smashed and tools stolen from inside, and someone was seen running off along Aston Street, in the direction of Hepscott Terrace.
The tools taken include a Trend 240v router, router bits, an 18v Makita drill cordless impact driver, a 140v Kango drill, a 110v Kango drill and a 110v Dewalt circular saw.
