A WARRANT has been issued for the arrest of a South Tyneside man charged with a string of motoring offences after he failed to attend court.

Kenneth Rainbow, 45, of Boswell Avenue, South Shields, was due before South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court yesterday to face four charges dating back to September 13, 2012.

He stood accused of using a motor vehicle without third party insurance, driving a vehicle otherwise than in accordance with the licence, using a vehicle without a test certificate, and using a motor vehicle with an altered silencer/exhaust system.

The charges were proved in his absence.

A warrant was issued for Rainbow’s arrest without bail at the court.

A BUILDING site has been hit by thieves who stole fuel worth £300 from vehicles.

Raiders struck in Colchester Street, South Shields, siphoning diesel from vans left parked up over the weekend.

A total of 400 litres was stolen between 4.30pm on Friday and 7.15am on Monday.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101.
