Woman arrested over suspected arson in South Shields



A WOMAN has been arrested over a suspected arson following a fire at a house in South Tyneside.

At 10.10pm last night, police received a report from the fire and rescue service of a fire in Belloc Avenue, South Shields.

The fire was contained in one room and no one was inside at the time.

It is believed the fire was started deliberately, and a 44-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent.

She is currently in custody, helping police with their inquiries.
