A WOMAN has been charged in connection with an investigation into the rape of a young boy on Tyneside.
Kathleen Proud, 69, from Newcastle, has been charged with arranging to facilitate child sexual abuse.
She will appear at Newcastle Magistrates’ Court on March 28.
It follows a report that a young boy had been raped at an address in the city, which was reported to police on Tuesday, December 10.
Previously, Craig Arthur Price, 32, was charged with six offences of rape of a male child under the age of 13, and Shaun Proctor, 21, was charged with two offences of the rape of a male child under the age of 13.
The pair, both from Newcastle, are currently progressing through the courts.
James Gerard McCreadie, 45, of Bewick Court, Newcastle, was also charged with six offences of rape of a male child under the age of 13, but has since died in prison.
