Woman faces trial over aggravated burglary

A WOMAN facing a charge of aggravated burglary will have her case heard at crown court.

Aimee Allen appeared before South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court yesterday accused of a raid at an address in Selbourne Street, South Shields, on Tuesday, April 29.

The 27-year-old entered no pleas during the hearing.

She is accused of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm to two people in the house and of having a plank of wood in her possession at the time of the offence.

The case was committed to Newcastle Crown Court for a hearing on Thursday, July 17.

She is jointly charged with the offence along with two co-defendants.

Allen, of Whitehead Street, South Shields, was granted bail until then with the conditions that she does not contact prosecution witnesses, continues to reside at her home address and does not enter Selbourne Street.
