A WOMAN is in hospital after being hit by a runaway police car.
The 36-year-old suffered facial injuries after she was struck by the vehicle as it rolled down a hill near Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena after it was left unattended by officers on Saturday evening.
Officers went to the venue, hosting a mixed martial arts event, after receiving reports of an incident inside.
A police spokeswoman said: “We are carrying out a full investigation into the causes of the collision.”
