A WOMAN landed herself in court after smashing a lampshade at her mother’s house in a drunken rage.
Samantha Slack was arrested when her mother called police and the daughter was found in possession of drugs.
Slack, of Hadrian Road, Jarrow, pleaded guilty to criminal damage and possession of a Class B drug at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court.
Jeanette Smith, prosecuting, said: “Her mother was at home on February 13.
“Her daughter, Samantha Slack, came home, picked up a lampshade and threw it to the floor. The glass shattered.
Reading a statement from the mother, Mrs Smith added: “She was very drunk and had a can of cider with her.
“She was shouting and I told her I was sick of her behaviour.
“She is aggravated and aggressive when she is drunk.”
When she was arrested by police, Slack was found with white powder in her possession, which was identified as amphetamine.
She admitted both charges when interviewed by police, and said she must have lost her temper when causing the damage at her mother’s home.
David Forrester, defending, said: “She has no previous convictions.
“She came in to the house having had too much to drink and regrets the offences.”
Magistrates asked for a probation report to be completed on the 23-year-old.
She will be back in court for sentencing on May 1.
